Do your engineers and finance team know what their cloud decisions cost?
FinOps training built around your clouds, your bill and your people
Live, hands-on training for engineers, data teams, finance and leadership, taught by a FinOps-certified practitioner on your own billing data. Every course is tailored to your clouds, your maturity and the problems you want solved, from a half-day workshop to a six-week program. Nothing is paid upfront.
Your team's time: the sessions themselves, plus a 45-minute planning call to tailor the content.
- Price
- From $1,750, fixed
- Format
- Live and remote, on your data
- Group size
- Up to 12 or 15 people
- You get
- Slides, labs, recordings, playbooks
Is this right for you?
A good fit if
- Engineers ship fast but nobody on the team can read the cloud bill or say what a design decision costs.
- Finance and procurement are asked to approve commitments and budgets they do not fully understand.
- You are starting a FinOps practice and want everyone to share one vocabulary and one set of habits.
- You run a BigQuery, GKE or AWS estate and want the people closest to it to find and fix waste themselves.
- Your teams are being asked to control AI and LLM spend and nobody has been shown how.
Probably not for you if
- You want a generic, off-the-shelf certification class. Public classes exist for that; ours is built around your estate.
- You need the FinOps Foundation exam itself. We prepare people for it, but the exam is bought from the Foundation.
- You want recorded videos only. Every course here is live, with your own data in the labs.
What you walk away with
People who can read the bill
Engineers, analysts and finance partners who can open your billing data, find what a service, team or query costs, and explain why it moved.
Habits that stick
A short set of cost-aware practices for each role, from tagging and right-sizing checklists to commitment reviews, agreed in the room and written down.
Savings found during the course
The labs run on your own billing export, so every cohort leaves with a ranked list of real savings it found, with owners, not a hypothetical exercise.
What is included
Every package includes all of this. The tiers below change the size of the estate we cover and how much hands-on help you get.
Tailored to you, every time
Before any session we hold a planning call, read a sample of your billing data and agree the modules, the examples and the outcomes. The same course is never taught twice.
FinOps fundamentals for engineers
How cloud billing works, the FinOps Foundation framework and principles, reading your bill, and five cost-aware design habits. Half a day; developers, SREs and architects.
FinOps for finance and procurement
Billing mechanics, amortized and blended costs, commitments as capital decisions, forecasting and variance reviews. Half a day; FP&A, controllers and procurement.
Executive briefing
The operating model, a maturity target and a first 90-day plan, agreed in the room. Ninety minutes; CTO, CFO and engineering leadership.
AWS cost optimization workshop
Find and price waste in your own Cost and Usage Report: idle compute, storage tiers, snapshots, data transfer, commitments. One day; platform and application teams.
Google Cloud and BigQuery cost workshop
Billing export to BigQuery, committed use discounts, budgets and alerts, then BigQuery itself: slots versus on-demand, partitioning, clustering, physical storage, query guardrails. One day; data engineers and analysts.
Kubernetes, GKE and EKS cost
Requests and limits, bin packing, autoscaling, spot and preemptible nodes, namespace showback. Half a day; platform teams.
Commitments, allocation and unit economics
Savings Plan, Reserved Instance and CUD coverage targets and laddering; tagging and allocation standards, showback and chargeback; cost per customer or transaction. Half a day each; FinOps leads, finance and product.
FinOps for AI and LLM spend
Token and GPU cost drivers, training versus inference, caching and model routing, budgets per use case, and AI unit metrics. Half a day; ML and platform teams with finance.
Cost optimization hackathon
Mixed squads work through your own billing data for a day with a practitioner in the room, and leave with a savings backlog, owners and dates. One day.
FinOps Certified Practitioner exam preparation
Two three-hour sessions mapped to the FinOps Foundation syllabus, with practice questions. The exam itself is purchased from the Foundation; Finitizer is not a Foundation training partner and does not issue the certification.
What we hand over
- A tailored curriculum agreed with you before the first session
- Slides and a workbook for every module
- Hands-on labs on your own billing export, with sanitized sample data as a fallback
- Session recordings, available for 90 days
- Short quizzes with a completion certificate from Finitizer
- Templates you keep: tag policy, commitment ladder, savings backlog, review cadence
- A written summary of the savings found during the labs, with owners
- Two weeks of follow-up questions by email after the last session
How it works
Week 0
Free scoping call
Thirty minutes on who needs training, what they already know, which clouds you run and what you want to be different afterwards. You get a written quote that matches a package.
Week 1
Planning call and billing sample
A 45-minute call with the sponsor and one or two participants to agree modules, examples and outcomes. You share a sample of your billing export through a secure link so the labs use your numbers.
Weeks 1 to 2
We tailor the material
Slides, labs and quizzes are built around your estate, your tags and your real cost drivers. You review the outline before the first session.
Weeks 2 to 8
The sessions
Live and remote, or on site by arrangement. A half-day workshop is one session; the bootcamp is two consecutive days; the program is one session a week for six weeks with an office hour in between.
After the last session
Summary and follow-up
You receive the recordings, the templates, the quiz results and a written summary of the savings the cohort found. Questions by email are answered for two weeks.
Pricing
One fixed fee per course, agreed before we start, with no upfront payment: 50% is invoiced when the tailored curriculum is agreed and the first session has run, and 50% after the final session. Pay by card or bank transfer. Prices are in US dollars, exclude applicable taxes, and are for remote delivery; on-site delivery adds travel at cost.

- A standalone 90-minute executive briefing is $750, credited in full against any package booked within 60 days.
- A second cohort of the same course is 10% less; three or more, 20% less.
- Need something that is not on the list? Most modules started as a request. Book a call and describe it.
Tailored, or we rework it
You approve the curriculum before the first session. If a session misses what we agreed, we rework and rerun it at no charge. You keep every slide, lab and recording either way.
The data we need from you
The labs are the point of the course, and they only work on your numbers. We need a sample of your billing data before the material is built. If you cannot share it, we use sanitized sample data, and we tell you in advance that the labs will be less specific.
- AWS: one recent month of your Cost and Usage Report (CUR), exported from the management (payer) account. Account names can be masked.
- Google Cloud: one recent month of your detailed usage cost export from Cloud Billing, exported from its BigQuery dataset. Project names can be masked.
- For the BigQuery module: a 30-day export of INFORMATION_SCHEMA.JOBS_BY_PROJECT from one or two busy projects, with query text redacted if you prefer.
- For the AI and LLM module: a recent provider usage export (for example Anthropic, OpenAI, Bedrock or Vertex AI), or the AI lines of your cloud bill.
How it reaches us: Through a secure, customer-specific upload link we send you after the planning call. Files are stored encrypted in Finitizer's Google Cloud environment in the US, used only to build your course, and deleted on request after the last session.
Access and security
Training needs no access to your cloud accounts. Everything runs on exported files you choose to share.
- No IAM roles, service principals or console access are needed for any course.
- Billing exports can be masked or sampled; the labs need the shape of your spend, not every line.
- Recordings are hosted privately, shared only with the participants you name, and removed after 90 days.
- We sign your NDA before any file is shared, and we do not reuse your data or examples with another customer.

Frequently asked questions
What does "tailored" actually mean?
Every course starts from a planning call and a sample of your billing data. We pick the modules that fit your clouds and roles, build the examples and labs on your spend, and agree the outcomes with you before the first session. The same course is never taught twice. If what you need is not in the catalogue, describe it on the scoping call; most modules started that way.
Who is the training for?
Engineers, SREs and architects; data engineers and analysts; finance, FP&A and procurement; and engineering and finance leadership. Most bootcamps mix engineers and finance on purpose, because FinOps is the conversation between them.
Is this a FinOps Foundation certification course?
No. Finitizer is not a FinOps Foundation training partner and does not issue the FinOps Certified Practitioner credential. The exam preparation sessions follow the Foundation's published syllabus and have helped people pass, but the exam itself is bought from the Foundation. Participants receive a Finitizer completion certificate.
Remote or on site?
Remote by default, live over video with shared labs. On-site delivery is available by arrangement, with travel charged at cost.
How big can a cohort be?
Up to 12 for the workshop and bootcamp, up to 15 for the program, because the labs are hands-on and everyone gets feedback. Larger teams run a second cohort at a discount.
Do you need access to our cloud accounts?
No. The labs run on exported billing files you share through a secure link, masked or sampled if you prefer. No roles or console access are ever needed.
What if we cannot share billing data at all?
We run the labs on sanitized sample data from a realistic estate. The course still works, but the savings backlog at the end will be an exercise rather than a list your team can act on, and we will say so before you buy.
How is this different from a public FinOps class?
A public two-day class costs about $1,500 to $1,900 per seat and teaches the same material to everyone. Ours is private, built on your estate, and ends with savings your team found and templates it can use the next day. For twelve people the bootcamp costs about a third of twelve public seats.
Which clouds and platforms do you cover?
AWS and Google Cloud, including BigQuery, GKE and EKS, plus AI and LLM spend across providers. Azure is not covered today.
How do we pay?
Nothing is paid upfront. Half the fee is invoiced when the tailored curriculum is agreed and the first session has run, and the other half after the final session. Invoices can be paid by card or bank transfer, and we can work with a purchase order.
